Lima
On first appearance, Lima isn’t a great destination. It’s noisy, polluted, has too much traffic and too much cloud cover. It also only has a small handful of places which are recommended to visit, which are dotted around the city.
However, on top of seeking out the places in the guide book, we haven’t had to stray too far to find some fun local events, friendly Limeños and some very tasty ceviché. We like the Miraflores area with it’s surfing, skating, pretty parks, patisseries and live music. Overall, the longer we stayed, the more Lima grew on us.
We have also now met the rest of our group and are now looking forward to starting the official trip!
Lima tips:
- Pisco sours, cancha and causa at Al Fresco restaurant
- Try some street churros with dulce de leech (so sweet, one per person will probably be enough!)
- If you have a spare evening, sample the weird fun of the fountain park
