Iguassu Falls
Our final night bus (yay!) took us to ‘Foz do Iguaçu’. We were greeted with a fantastic Brazilian breakfast- lots of cake 🙂
We got a bit carried away and ended up seeing the falls from every possible angle! The first was an aerial view from a helicopter. Wow. We were pretty excited being in a helicopter as it was, but the view of the falls was just breathtaking. There are 275 falls, running along a 2.7km section. The scale is just huge. This is the only way to see everything at the same time. Next, we walked along the Brazilian side of the river, to look over at the falls, finally walking out onto a platform in front of some of the larger ones, getting sprayed with water in the process. There were dozens of rainbows, and there seemed to be views of different falls at every turn.
The following day, we visited the Argentinian side. This time we were able to walk over the falls. You get so close and as we the sheer amount of water, it was amazing. We followed this up with a boat trip, to see the view looking up from the river. Sophie was scared- any wrong move by the captain could be fatal, the boats go extremely close to the falling water! We made it through, safe and alive, but absolutely soaked! We finished our trip off with a caiparinha pool party.
The Iguassu Falls has got to be the highlight of our trip so far. Amazing, incredible, fantastic.
