Paracas, Pisco and Huacachina
This was a fun packed day! We started off in Paracas and took a boat ride out to the Ballestas islands where we saw dolphins, Inca turtles, vultures, penguins and sea lions. The views were incredible, but what the photos don’t describe is the smell! It smelt awful, there is up to 2m of excrement which is collected and imported to the UK as pricey fertiliser.
Next, we had a tour of a winery and enjoyed a tasting session of Pisco sours – they are like a sweeter, diluted margarita. Mm!
We then spent our afternoon in the sand dunes in Huacachina trying out a bit of sand boarding. The buggy ride there was as thrilling as the best roller coasters we have been on!
